2nd CNE Seminar, Lundbeck, Copenhagen, 10th of September 2018

Dr. Brad Bolon:

“Pathology Principles and Practices for Nonclinical Discovery and Development of CNS-Targeted Therapies”

Therapeutic options for treating diseases of the central nervous system (CNS) are limited even as numbers of patients with neurodegenerative, neurodevelopmental, and psychiatric diseases seems to be exploding around the world.  Nonclinical discovery and development of innovative therapies is difficult due to a paucity of effective and well-validated models.

This seminar will discuss common challenges encountered in using in vitro and in vivo animal models to evaluate new therapeutic candidates and highlight the critical role that experimental pathology resources play in facilitating the translation of animal-derived safety data to assess potential risk to human patients.
